Climate change impact discussion at Ecology Fiesta

Representatives of the Mexican branch of Climate Reality Project, founded by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, will be featured in a keynote address at the Ecology and Recycling Fiesta taking place Saturday, October 5, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Lake Chapala Society south campus.

pg11bGuest speakers Aranzazú Arámbula and Dominique Melhado Basurto will talk about the impacts of climate change and lay out the case for pressing policy makers and business leaders to enact prompt practical solutions to counteract an impending worldwide crisis. The presentation is scheduled for 11 a.m. for Spanish-speakers, to be repeated in English at noon.

Elsewhere on the grounds, the Reciclaje Ajijic committee will simultaneously discuss “Why and What to Recycle,” with the English talk set for 11 a.m. and Spanish version at noon.

The program also includes activities about recycling for kids, silent and live auctions and live entertainment running throughout the day. Admission is free with donation of one recyclable item.
