From humble beginnings a decade ago, the Lake Chapala Farmers Market has grown and thrived as the go-to place for local shoppers keen to stock up on fresh and healthy food supplies.
Every Tuesday throngs of customers pour into the market’s headquarters at the La Huerta Events Center located on the Chapala-Jocotepec highway, a short distance west of the Ajijic cemetery. From opening time at 10 a.m. to the 12:30 p.m. closing, the ample venue bustles with activity as shoppers fill their carry-alls with fruits and vegetables, meat and dairy products, assorted herbs, grains and pantry supplies, breads and baked goods, homemade carry-out dishes and natural health remedies.
