On the eve of the “Day without Women” National Strike set for Monday, March 9, a demonstration of solidarity will be held at the Chapala Malecón Sunday, March 8, 6 to 9 p.m.
The location is Salate de Felisa, in front of the Beer Garden, where protestors will put up an interactive display on cases of violence and sexual harassment against women, take registrations for a directory of female professionals and service providers, and light candles in memory of women who have disappeared or lost their lives. Participants will also mount an art installation featuring red shoes, a symbol of empowerment in the feminist movement.
