The history and art of the Mexican rebozo will be showcased at a benefit event for the Centro Pro Mexico of San Juan Cosalá, to be held Friday, March 20, 4:30 to 8 p.m., at the Raquet Club.
Planned as a belated celebration of International Women’s Day, the social happening will feature an exhibition of different styles of the emblematic shawl, a weaving demonstration, a photo display tracing the history of the ubiquitous lady’s garment, and an introductory chat explaining its practical uses and cultural connection to Mexican women.
