Chapala’s first Covid-19 casualty succumbs in United States

Chapala residents are mourning the death of native son Salvador Rodríguez Medina, who succumbed to the Covid-19 virus Monday, April 13 in Santa Ana, California.

pg4aRodríguez had been under care at an Orange County Hospital designated for specialized treatment of Covid-19 cases since testing positive for the disease early this month.

Chavo, as he was fondly known among friends, was a hairdresser by trade who migrated from Chapala 17 years ago to make his home in southern California. He was 47 years old.

A woman originally from Ajijic and her spouse who also reside in Santa Ana’s enclave of Jalisco immigrants are also reportedly battling the Covid-19 infection.
