Pablo González Rodríguez, the man in charge of setting up a permanent home for Chapala’s Municipal Archives, shows off work in progress to store a collection of documents and historical materials dating back to 1800.
The archives will occupy six rooms on the ground floor of the former schoolhouse located at Calle Niños Heroes 69, including a salon for rotating displays of vintage photographs, along with ample storage rooms for cataloged boxes of documents. The renovated Escuela Niños Héroes also houses other municipal offices, including the Municipal Traffic Department and Foreign Community Liaison.
