Common tree infirmities

The number one threat to the survival of lakeside area trees is fungal disease that rots the roots or kills foliage, according to Chapala Ecology chief José Jaime.

Screw worms, moths, weevils, white flies and other harmful insects, along with different types of parasitic plants in the mistletoe family are other common causes of fatal debilities.
