Steve Balfour, acting executive director of the Lake Chapala Society (LCS), was elected as president of the organization’s board of directors during the annual general meeting conducted by Zoom on Thursday, August 20.
Approximately 90 current LCS members with voting privileges were among the 112 persons who logged in to the organization’s first-ever online virtual assembly. The innovate technological approach to running the meeting ran like nearly flawless clockwork, wrapping up 30 minutes ahead of the scheduled 10 a.m. to noon time slot.
Others LCS officers elected to board positions were George William Radford as secretary and Richard Chase, Brian Dalziel, Yolanda Martinez Llamas, Michael Searles and Elizabeth Villaseñor Ramírez as directors at large. Ratified in their appointed posts were vice-president Howard Feldstein and directors-at-large Larry Barnhardt, Antoinette Brahm and Christy Carter Caldwell.
