Barely a month into work to upgrade the Auditorio de Ribera complex in La Floresta, the Jalisco government has pledged an extra 7.5 million pesos to push ahead the first stage of the project.
The site has been designated as the central cardinal point of five regional cultural hubs spread around the state.
During the first week of August the crew employed by the project contractor initiated demolition and foundation work on an auditorium annex to be built along the eastern perimeter of the property. This will house a warehouse, studios for dance and music classes and rehearsals, and a coffee shop with an al fresco terrace.
