Cemeteries located in Chapala and other lakeshore communities will remain closed to the public through this weekend, under the two-week Covid-19 mitigation measures implemented by state authorities.
Although traditional Day of the Dead family gatherings and religious services at lakeside graveyards were banned this year, many local inhabitants managed to get ahead of the game to spruce up the tombs of the dearly departed with floral arrangements, memorial wreaths and other festive adornments.
