Chapala wraps up round one of vaccines

With some loose ends still pending, Chapala’s first round of Covid-19 vaccinations concluded Sunday, March 21 as the last batches of 8,000 available Sinovac shots were plunged into the arms of senior citizens who showed up at the city’s La Cristianía Park.

for no. 10The supply of vaccines was apparently sufficient to cover the local populace of persons over age 60, with the exception of non-resident foreign nationals who could not qualify without the requisite CURP identification code. But the campaign was marred from start to finish by multiple organizational bungles.

The Servidores de la Nación (Servants of the Nation) in charge of managing seniors enrolled in the program, muddled through late starts, last minute venue changes, faulty logistics, poor communications with local government officials and the public at large, and other tasks  that may have been responsibilities of their superiors.
