Four young men officially listed as missing persons were located by Jalisco authorities on August 18 at a rehab center for treatment of addictions operating in the municipality of Chapala.
The outcome of inquiries carried out at the facility by agents of the state’s Fiscalía Especial de Personas Desaparecidas (FEPD) were announced during an August 24 press conference presided over by Jalisco Attorney General Gerardo Octavio Solís Gómez. He indicated that the missing men have been returned to family surroundings after undergoing medical and psychological evaluations.
Solis reported further that FEPD has discovered the whereabouts of 13 individuals named in its missing persons files through inspections at nine different rehab centers in the course of this year.
