Chapala government transition beginsĀ 

Chapala Mayor Moisés Anaya Aguilar has promised an orderly, transparent and seamless change of government.

pg7aThe transition teams representing the outgoing and incoming administrations were presented at a press conference held September 9 at Ajijic’s Hotel Real.

Anaya bows out as the municipality’s chief executive on Friday, October 1, when Mayor-elect Alejandro Aguirre Curiel takes charge.

“Let me be firm and clear. We will not be leaving problems behind,” Anaya declared. “We won’t give pleasure to those who want to see blood, to see us fighting and tearing each other apart.”

Anaya stressed that his administration will be responsible in turning over a government that is operating public works and programs without complications, pointing out that the government’s debt has been reduced by 25 percent under his watch.
