The main purpose of the visit was to discuss ways to strengthen ties of mutual cooperation and exchange opportunities.  Following their initial meeting at City Hall, Coughlin’s hosts guided him on a tour to Atequiza for a firsthand look at the town’s majestic 19th century theater, the building’s library and history museum, and surrounding grounds of the former hacienda where Independence hero Miguel Hidalgo and his troops camped out on November 24, 1810, en route to Guadalajara.
