Automotive chaos ruled in central Ajijic with the November 21 kickoff of the town’s annual fiestas patronales.
With no traffic officers on the ground to guide motorists as procession floats were lining up behind the San Andrés church, dozens of cars and trucks got stuck in gridlock at the corner of Galeana and Guadalupe Victoria and further along at the intersection with Constitución. A number of village streets will remain partially blocked until the festivities conclude.
