Crowds of excited spectators lined the streets of Ajijic on Sunday, January 1 to catch the traditional Año Nuevo (New Year) parade and welcome 2023 in high spirits.
Dancing dudes dressed up as beer bottles, including one in charge of shooting off intermittent sky rockets, help set the tone for the playful cavalcade.
A contingent of bearded and masked viejitos (old men) sashayed along the route, amusing the spectators with their flowing ragtag gowns fashioned from multicolored strips of print fabrics.
