The Chapala government will partner with Jalisco’s Culture Department to renovate the theater area inside the Centro Cultural de Ajijic that is a frequent venue for dance, music and theater programs, as well as conferences and public meeting events.
The project will entail replacing the floorboards and vertical staves of the stage located on the lower level of the center with 100,000 pesos to be invested by state government, plus the city’s contribution of 40,460 pesos.
The proposal to share expenses for including the Ajijic Cultural Center in the Jalisco Fund for Cultural Animation program of minor infrastructure projects was approved by a city council vote on May 17. The starting date and timeline for the upgrade has not yet been determined.
