Chapala in focus at first Indie Film Festival

Lake Chapala landscapes and local talent will be the focus of the first Chapala Indie Film Festival (CIFF), set for a debut run from Friday, December 8 through Sunday, December 10.

pg15aUnder the slogan “Hecho en el Lago,” CIFF is being promoted as a cultural lighthouse shining its lens on the work of independent cinematographers and fomenting the emergence of new filmmaking talents.

The CIFF program kicks off with a Red Carpet and Opening Gala on Friday, December 8, 5 to 9 p.m., at Chapala’s Centro Cultural González Gallo (former railway station). Guests will be able to meet the festival’s participants and enjoy an evening of glamorous entertainment featuring the Black Sapphire and Triálogo jazz bands and the AnimaMundi theater troupe’s performance of “The Incantation of Michicihualli” penned by Sol Fortoul.
