Margaritaville Latitudes Lake Chapala: a progress report

The crystallization of the Latitude Margaritaville International (LMI) at Lake Chapala is progressing at a steady pace, as verified this week by John Cohlan, CEO of Margaritaville Holdings LLC.

He joined executives from the project’s Mexican partner company Levy Holdings for an on-site inspection of the senior living residential complex due for completion in 2024.

Once the makeover of the former La Pueblita location is completed, the LMI Lake Chapala condominium will comprise 197 apartment units built in six four-story towers and 30 individual villas.

The new look of the complex, fusing the tropical style of the Margaritaville brand with typical Mexican features, follows the design by Alan Valadez Solis of Diagrama Arquitectos, a Levy Holding subsidiary.

Forget the classic line about wasting away in Margaritaville. LMI Chapala is planned as a place of relaxed active living for the 55 and better generation. Property owners can expect to enjoy its multiple amenities, such as two swimming pools and a jacuzzi, a fitness center, pickleball courts, a coffee shop,  restaurants, the License to Chill Sky Bar, an indoor theater, and a community plaza, plus a 30-room hotel to lodge their guests. Available services include valet parking and golf cart transport inside the complex, as well as outside shuttles to carry residents to local businesses and activities elsewhere in the area.
