Heritage Baptist Church

A Christian should be a striking likeness of Jesus Christ. The best life of Christ is his living biography, written out in the words and actions of his people. If we were what we profess to be, we should be pictures of Christ. Imitate him in your spirit; think kindly, speak kindly and do kindly. Self-denying; never looking to your own interest. Devout; be fervent in your prayers. Doing his Father’s will and submitting yourselves to him. Patient; learn to endure. And best of all, as the highest portrait of Jesus, try to forgive your enemies, as he did; and let those sublime words of your Master, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do,” always ring in your ears. Forgive, as you hope to be forgiven. Heap coals of fire on the heads of your foes by your kindness to them. Be godlike then and in all ways, live that all may say of you, “He has been with Jesus.”Heritage Baptist Church meets at La Estacion above Pancho’s Deli, 2nd floor, Hidalgo 75, Riberas del Pilar. Lakeside Presbyterian

The role of caregiver seldom is one we choose. Instead, it is often an identity that is thrust upon us with the sudden illness of a spouse, an elderly parent, a friend, or a special needs child. And when we are surprised by that new responsibility, we often wonder, “Who is there to help me? What resources are available? How can I cope?”

At Lakeside Presbyterian Church, we want to help, so beginning Wednesday, March 6, and the next four Wednesdays, we are offering free classes on the ins and outs of not just being a caregiver but growing through the process.

March 6: Charlotte Donaldson, M.DE, will be sharing the resources available in the immediate Lakeside area and Guadalajara for Caregivers.

March 13: Psychologist Debi Newman, Ph.D. will be speaking on the topic of “Self-Care for the Caregiver.”

March 20: Glenda and Ted Rogers, Ph. D. will discuss how to be an effective support partner for a caregiver.

March 27: Ted Rogers will be giving the capstone lecture on “Caregiving—How to do so in an Effective and Rewarding Fashion.”

Each class will begin at 10 a.m. and run until noon. Classes are free, registration is limited to 25 individuals. To register, email to This email address is being protected from spambots.
