Northern Lights Festival strikes a chord in Ajijic

In the heart of Ajijic, the vibrant lakeside town known for its rich cultural tapestry, the Northern Lights Festival de Febrero recently concluded its two-week extravaganza, leaving behind an unforgettable melody that resonated with locals and international patrons.

From February 10 to 24, the town was alive with the sound of classical and jazz music, as the festival showcased the talents of more than 35 renowned musicians and dancers from around the world.

Under the careful orchestration of a dedicated committee of volunteers, the Festival de Febrero offered a musical feast, presenting at least one concert per day, and often treating attendees to two performances in a single day. The evenings were transformed into memorable experiences with after-parties featuring live jazz groups, wine and catered food. Additional events, including an elegant benefactors’ dinner, four master classes supported by the Canadian Embassy, and music lessons for local musicians, added layers of enrichment to the festival.
