A work crew employed a tow truck equipped with a long extension arm to install new traffic signals last Sunday on the Chapala-Jocotepec highway to the west of central Ajijic.
They were placed at the intersection of Calle Álvaro Obregón in front of Fonda Doña Lola. The signals had not been activated at press time, but a sign on the horizontal light post indicates that they will operate to assist pedestrians to safely cross the highway at a point of heavily frequented bus stops on either side of the roadway.
