The Chapala government has announced a plan to reward responsible taxpayers with raffle prizes of two electric bicycles among those who are up to date on their 2026 property taxes.
The initiative, led by the Municipal Property Registry Office, aims to recognize those who have already met their annual impuesto predial obligations and offer an incentive to those who are still delinquent on the annual payments.
José Barajas Gómez, director of the Catastro Land Registry office, explained that tax collection during the first months of 2026 was similar to levels recorded last year, with a modest slowdown in April, which he attributed to non-working days during the Easter holiday period.
