An attempted robbery on an inter-city bus in the northern Mexican state of Coahuila went horribly wrong early Thursday morning, when the passengers fought back and killed one of the assailants.
The incident occurred on a Futura bus en route from Durango to Monterrey. Witnesses said the two men threatened the driver with a knife and demanded the passengers’ valuables. But when one of the assailants turned his back he was assaulted by men from the rear of the bus. The passengers beat him to death and seriously injured his accomplice. Police said they are questioning everyone on board.
