Three Mexicans escape hangman in Malaysia

According to straitstimes.com, three Mexican brothers, who were set to be hanged for drug trafficking crimes have been pardoned by Malaysia’a Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar of Johor.

The siblings were arrested in a raid on a methamphetamine lab in Johor in March, 2008, and sentenced to death in May 2012.  They pleaded not guilty at their trial, saying they had only been hired to clean the lab and did not know what was happening there. Their sentence has been commuted to life in prison.
