Swedish teen activist Greta Thunberg may be mocked by certain world leaders, but she’s piqued the interest of Mexican legislators who are keen to hear her opinions on climate change and how to solve the problem.
The leader of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Mexican Senate this week issued an invitation to Thunberg to speak to the chamber in “the lively, spontaneous and intense way that only she knows how.” Héctor Vasconcelos called the warming of the planet the “worst threat to the human race” and said it has become a real international emergency.
