Didn’t get included in the census? You should contact INEGI

Residents of Mexico who were not interviewed in last month’s national census have until April 30 to contact the Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI) and provide them with the pertinent details.

This can be done either by telephone, at 800-111-4634, or on the web page https://censo2020.mx/censatetumismo.

Residents who were not at home when census takers went from house to house in March should have been left a letter from INEGI titled “Cénsate tú mismo,” inviting them to complete the survey by phone or internet.

Even if residents who weren’t interviewed didn’t receive the letter, they should still get in touch with INEGI to provide their information.  By law, all residents of Mexico – Mexican and foreign – are obliged to participate in the national census, which is carried out every ten years. All respondents must be aged over 18.
