Lottery ticket honor for Canada

Mexico’s National Lottery has issued a special ticket to commemorate eight decades of diplomatic relations between Mexico and Canada.

pg8a“This symbolic gesture is a tangible reminder of our solid alliance, and serves as a testimony to the ties we have forged over eight decades,” explained Carlos Joaquín González, the ambassador of Mexico in Canada, at the presentation of the ticket. He added that the Mexican community in Canada participated in the design contest for the lottery ticket.

Shauna Hemingway, deputy head of mission at the Canadian Embassy in Mexico, explained that various events will be held this year connected to this milestone commemoration.

These tickets—Zodiac Draw No. 1645—can be purchased at 11,000 National Lottery points of sale throughout the country and online at alegrialoteria.com. Each ticket costs 20 pesos, or 400 pesos for a series. The draw has an individual “Premio Mayor” (Grand Prize) of seven million pesos, plus 24 million pesos in smaller amounts.
