US and Mexico launch joint plan to secure critical minerals supply chains

The United States and Mexico have enacted an action plan to coordinate policies on critical minerals — essential materials for semiconductors, batteries and defense technologies — aiming to reduce reliance on concentrated global markets and strengthen North American supply chain resilience.

Mexican Economy Secretary Marcelo Ebrard emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership, stating the goal is to ensure the supply of important minerals for Mexican industry as part of the highly integrated North American economy.
