President Claudia Sheinbaum appears on the main balcony of the National Palace alongside members of BTS on May 6, waving to a crowd of nearly 50,000 fans packed into Mexico City’s Zócalo ahead of the K‑pop group’s sold‑out concerts.

Sheinbaum welcomed the seven‑member band during her morning press briefing, calling them artists who “always convey messages of friendship, peace and love.”
The appearance came as more than 136,000 tickets for BTS’s three Mexico City shows sold out almost immediately, a demand that prompted Sheinbaum in January to describe the group’s visit as a“historic moment” and to request additional concerts from her South Korean counterpart.
