Cellphone users in Mexico have until June 30 to register their lines or face immediate service suspension.
Under federal regulations, all Mexican numbers activated before January 9, 2026 must be legally linked to the owner’s identity. Starting July 1, carriers will suspend unregistered lines, restricting users to emergency calls only.
Users can secure their lines instantly through two primary methods. 1. Online at your carrier’s official mobile app or website portal. 2. In-person at any official carrier customer service center.
Mexican citizens must provide a CURP or voter ID (INE), while foreign residents must provide their CURP and a valid passport.
