Scott Wolf

Lakeside resident Scott Wolf died November 11 in his home in Brisas de Chapala at the age of 58.

Born October 26, 1952 in Rochester, New York, Wolf served his country as a member of the United States Army Reserve. He built up his own company, Wolf Sales, in Portland, Oregon, which designed, manufactured and sold aluminum extrusions of various kinds.

His hobby as a diver took him to many exotic places around the world. When he retired at age 40, he traveled to Mexico in his motor home and finally settled at Lakeside in 1995. He was proud to be a member of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and was seven years sober. He met his wife Carol, who was from his home town and had been born in the same hospital, at Lakeside. They married on January 8, 2005.

Many of Scott’s friends referred to him as “Scoogle” because he was so good at doling out useful information – generally having to do with building, wiring or placing satellite dishes and such. If he didn’t know the answer, he knew where to get it and was generous with his time.

Wolf is survived by his wife Carol, daughters Brandy Smith and Melissa Wolf and stepdaughters Sarah Guest and husband Kevin, Suzanne McCoy and husband Chad. His grandchildren were Kyle Smith, Liam Smith, Dakota Lacey, Lauren Guest, Kelsey Guest, Cameron Guest, Rachel McCoy and Jacob McCoy.

Before he passed away, Wolf expressed his gratitude to Alcoholics Anonymous for his years of sobriety that so improved his life.

Plans for a memorial service are pending with an announcement to be made later.
