Timothy James Holland

Timothy “Tim” James Holland died January 28 after a three-month long battle with cancer at the age of 67.

Born November 23, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois, Holland graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He was a well-known computer programmer, whose projects included designing the computer system for the QVC home shopping channel.

Holland moved to Lakeside in 2004, making his home in La Floresta. He was on the board of directors of the La Ola Children’s Shelter, the senior elder and treasurer of the Little Chapel by the Lake and a member of the Lakeside Bridge Club and Lake Chapala Garden Club.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jamie Holland, of Ajijic; son David Holland of Carlsbad, California; daughters Elizabeth Dilday of Chicago and Julie Tolbert of Corona, California and eight granddaughters.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 1 p.m. at the Little Chapel by the Lake.

Holland’s friends remember him as a brilliant man with an excellent memory, charitable and generous with a dry sense of humor. He will be missed.
