Carroll Carter Williams

Longtime Lakeside resident Carroll Carter Williams died June 4 after a short illness. She was 68.

Born September 25, 1943 in Paducah, Kentucky, Williams graduated from the University of Georgia with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. She served as a civilian assistant attached to the U.S. Army in Germany during the 1970s and developed programs for mental health treatment.

Williams practiced clinical psychotherapy for the next 20 years, leaving Tampa, Florida for the Lake Chapala area in 1996. She left the area for about two years to undergo multiple eye surgeries in San Antonio, Texas, and had very recently returned to the region.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Williams, Jr., a brother, Tommy Carter and a nephew, Vincent Carter, both of Paducah, Kentucky.

A memorial service was held on June 17.
