Robert Bruce Webb

Robert (Bob) Bruce Webb , 75, of Winthrop, Maine and Tlachichilco, Jalisco, died on Monday, June 3, due to complications from a gall bladder surgery.

Born in Lansing, Michigan, on September 6, 1937, Webb graduated from St. John’s High School as valedictorian in 1955, and from Michigan State University in 1961.

In September, 1957, Webb married Darlene Brown of Mason, Michigan and worked for General Foods for 15 years. He then moved his wife and four children to Monmouth, Maine to work for the Bank of Maine, Longley Associates, and Volk Packaging.  He spent 15 years as vice president of marketing and sales for Saunders Bros. in Westbrook.
After retiring from Saunders he joined Darlene, broker of ERA Webb Associates, as sales manager, training people how to do their very best.

Spending the winters in Chapala was his next adventure, and he embraced this exciting time as he did every new experience – the people, neighbors, church, and amazing scenery.  No one was a stranger to him for long.
God and Webb’s family were the most important things in his life and he leaves his wife, Darlene, of 55-plus years; four children, Scott R. Webb, Sr., and wife Barbara, Robbin Webb Frost Alden and husband Ken, Stacey Webb Frost and husband Eric, and Anthony Webb; and eight grandchildren, Scott Webb, Jr., and wife Nicole, Zachery Frost, Christopher Frost (who sang at the Lake Chapala Baptist Church whenever he came to visit), Stephanie Frost, Sarah Frost, Abigail Webb, Samantha Frost, and Emma Grace Webb Alden; three great-grandchildren, Lilah Rose, Audrey Grace and Sophia Elise Webb.

Webb is a cancer survivor and said he owed the last two years of his life to God and Dr. Robert Soiffer at the Dana Farber Cancer Research Center in Boston.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Dana Farber Cancer Research Center, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115-6084, in memory of Bob.

His many friends in Tlachichilco, Jalisco, and all of the Lake Chapala area will miss his constant cheerfulness and humor.
