Robert Beesher Huffman

Robert Beesher Huffman succumbed to a rare form of anemia at his home in Chula Vista at the age of 83.

Born January, 6, 1939 in Charleston, West Virginia, Huffman graduated from the University of Southern California before entering the U.S. Navy, in which he served for three years as an officer.

A career businessman, he opened his own insurance company, Mutual Administrators, one of the largest of its kind in the state of Nevada, located in Reno and Las Vegas.

Huffman resided in Nevada for 45 years before moving to Lakeside some ten years ago.

Huffman was a proud 41-year active member of AA. He also served for 13 years as a board member of Samaritan House, a home for recovering alcoholics.

Huffman enjoyed marathon running, horse racing, golfing and traveling.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Clarita, son Kenneth (Tammy) of Las Vegas, Nevada, daughter Katherine, of Redondo Beach, California, and grandson Mark.   He is preceded in death by his brother James.

A memorial service was held October 11 at the Palm Mortuary in Las Vegas for family and friends. Donations in Huffman’s name can be made to a favorite local charity Lakeside.
