Alberto Don Olivera
Well-known lakeside dentist Alberto Don Olivera died at his home on or about July 23. His lifeless body was found lying in the yard by his gardener. The cause of death remains unknown.
A specialist in endodontics and oral rehabilitation, Don was a graduate of the University of Guadalajara. He ran a local practice for more than three decades, located most recently at Clinica Maskaras in Riberas del Pilar. He was greatly admired by a large and loyal following of foreign patients who appreciated his comforting chair-side manner and gentle techniques to minimize pain and anxiety. Beyond his professional work, he was recognized for possessing a warm personality and spirit of kindness to others.
Don is survived by his wife María Guadalupe, daughter Sara, son Carlos and siblings Adriana, Patricia, Alfredo and Eduardo. Following his cremation, a memorial Mass was held Wednesday, July 31, at Chapala’s San Francisco parish.
