Tuck into Vallarta’s annual food festival

Dozens of local hotels and restaurants are participating in Puerto Vallarta’s 18th International Gourmet Festival from November 8 to 18.

The brainchild of Thierry Blouet of Cafe des Artistes, Heinz Reize of Hotel Krystal and Silvan Müller of Nestle, the first festival was held in November 1995, with the aim of promoting Vallarta’s vibrant culinary scene on a world stage.

As always, local chefs will welcome famed guests from abroad to the many culinary activities planned, while this year the nearby city of Tepic, Nayarit will also be hosting a number of events.

Among the scheduled events, the “Gourmet a la Carta” will take place every night from 6 p.m. in the 27 participating international restaurants, with the chefs presenting a special tasting menu and gourmet selections a la carte. Reservations are recommended.

Prices for events range from 570 to 2,550 pesos. To book or view the full itinerary plus a complete list of the participating hotels and restaurants, visit www.festivalgourmet.com or call (322) 222-2247. Buen Provecho!
