Chili Cookoffs are becoming all the rage among expat communities in western Mexico.
The latest place to jump on the bandwagon is Puerto Vallarta, which hosts a cookoff on Saturday, March 30, 1-6 p.m. at El Rio Bar and Grill alongside the Cuale River in Paso Ancho.
The cookoff will include recipes from a broad range of sponsors, including restaurants and individuals.The public will vote for the first three places, while some of Vallarta’s top chefs will award the “Grand Chef’s Prize.”
Benefiting charities are Busca Un Amigo, Corazon de Nina, Toys for Tots and the Navy League’s Adopt a School program.
Mariachi groups perform from 2-4 p.m.
