May Fest finale

Puerto Vallarta concludes its centennial cerebrations Thursday, May 31 with a spectacular free evening show on the malecon, featuring mariachi, Guadalajara band Sonido Satanas, and ranchero superstar Pepe Aguilar.

Customs change

Terminal Two in Puerto Vallarta – where all international flights arrive – is to phase out the red/green “traffic light” system in its customs area.  All incoming baggage will be checked by passing trough x-ray machines before arriving at the conveyor belts. Passengers will then pass through lanes for “items to declare” or “nothing to declare.” As at airports in most other countries, customs agents will have free rein to stop and search luggage.

New buses coming

Puerto Vallarta will update its antiquated public bus network fleet with around 330 new buses to be introduced on a gradual basis throughout the rest of 2018.  The more environmentally friendly, gas-powered vehicles will feature air conditioning, security cameras, information screens and a system to accept pre-paid cards.
