A third woman has been found dead under suspicious circumstances in Puerto Vallarta in less than two weeks, fueling fears among some residents and international media that a serial killer may be targeting women in the popular tourist destination.
The latest victim, a woman between 30 and 35 years old, was discovered early Thursday morning on a dirt road known behind the bandstand in the Parque Las Palmas subdivision. According to local reports, she showed visible signs of beating.

The discovery is the third such case in two weeks: On May 10, the body of a woman approximately 45 years old was found near Rancho El Pirulí in the Chimborazo area. And on May 15, a woman between 40 and 45 years old was found dead at a rest stop along the highway to Mismaloya.
Local media outlets have reported that the victims have not yet been identified, and no friends or relatives have come forward to claim the bodies. This might indicate that the women were killed elsewhere and their bodies dumped in Puerto Vallarta.
