A new convention center, able to comfortably hold 2,400 people, is open for business in Nuevo Vallarta. 

Mango, that ever-popular oblong fruit, is at the center of an eponymous festival taking place in Plaza Lazaro Cardenas,  in the Los Muerto neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta, Saturday, July 1, 4-9 p.m.  

The seventh National Clean Beaches Convention will take place Tuesday to Thursday, June 8-10 at the Marival Resort hotel in Nuevo Vallarta. 

Steve’s Sports Bar in Puerto Vallarta will host a free Memorial Day event, offering a hot dog, hamburger, chips and one free drink to every military veteran who wishes to attend. 

The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board is sponsoring a training program developed in conjunction with the Mexico Tourism Board and Mexico’s Ministry of Tourism aimed at “strengthening LGBT offerings in the destination with quality, inclusive and respectful products and service.”  The course takes place on May 25 and is for local hoteliers and tour operators.

The first, 54-kilometer section of the new Guadalajara-Puerto Vallarta “Via Corta” (Short Route) toll road opened at the start of the Easter holidays.
