Toll-road expansion nearly ready

The expansion of the final stretch of the Guadalajara-Colima autopista (toll road) from two to four lanes could be completed as early as June.

The Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT) had originally set an October completion date, but now predict the work to be finished by June or July. The redevelopment work being funded by Banobras at a cost of 635 million pesos is already 81 percent complete, said Heriberto Gonzalez Rodriguez, director of the Jalisco SCT. Once finished, the driving time from Guadalajara to Colima/Manzanillo will be reduced markedly.
