Jalisco candidates joke before battle

As Rector Marco Antonio Cortes Guardado delivers his annual report to invited guests at the public University of Guadalajara (UdeG), Jalisco gubernatorial candidates Jorge Aristoteles Sandoval of the PRI (left) and Fernando Guzman of the PAN (right) share a laugh, while Fernando Garza of the the PRD shows off his multitasking skills by operating two cell phones at once.

Notably absent was the fourth candidate Enrique Alfaro, who represents a three-party leftist coalition. Having split with the PRD and his nemesis, UdeG kingpin Raul Padilla (who was sitting in the front row at the event), Alfaro’s invitation was presumably lost in the mail.
