Goddess of wisdom vanishes amid fog

Around 2,000 young people had the time of their lives last Sunday as they unleashed powder paints of multiple colors at the Minerva Fountain during an animated celebration of International Youth Day 2014.

According to Instituto Jalisciense de la Juventud Director Ramón Morales Sánchez, the participants doused themselves in paint to show the world that “young people can live in peace regardless of religion, race, color or physical condition,” adding that “united, they can be the force that changes society.”

Statewide, more than 16,000 young people took part in activities, ranging from cycle rides to music performances, lucha libre presentations and environmental projects.
