Jalisco offers incentives to filmmakers

The Jalisco government is putting up a booty of 17 million pesos to incentivize filmmakers to make their movies in this state.

The Comision de Filmaciones del Estado de Jalisco has promised to help fund up to 17 films in the coming year.

Film producers have until September 26 to submit their proposals for grants.

Preference will be given to productions that plan to use the state’s architectural and natural gems, while also helping the chosen area’s economy.
Mexican actor, producer and director Diego Luna is known to be scouting for locations for a new movie in Jalisco and is also keen to cement associations with regional investors and sponsors.
