A shootout at a ranch near the Jalisco town of Ameca has left five civilians and two soldiers dead.
The incident occurred during a routine operation by the Mexican Army as they continue their search for leaders of the Jalisco Nuevo Generation Cartel. Reports suggest the shootout lasted for around 20 minutes. Four military helicopters were deployed during the incident.
