Five local businesses placed on US blacklist

Five Jalisco businesses – three of them in Guadalajara – have been placed on the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) list of Specially Designated Nationals (SDNs).

The companies are believed to be under the control of the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion criminal organization.

The businesses named are the restaurant Mizu Sushi Lounge in Puerto Vallarta; Las Flores Cabañas, a cabin rental firm in Tapalpa; Onze Black, distributors of tequila based in Guadalajara; J&P Advertising in Guadalajara and JJGON, a company involved in agriculture in Guadalajara.

The OFAC prohibits U.S. citizens, permanent residents, U.S. foreign nationals, and U.S.-based businesses and corporations from taking part in most transactions with SDNs, including commerce, business, trade, or finance.
