Gang steals luxury new cars from Ford compound

An audacious gang of armed criminals managed to steal at least 40 new-model Ford vehicles from a lot in Tlajomulco last week.

According to staff at the lot, the assailants arrived at the lot pretending to be police officers investigating the theft of a pick up truck.  Once inside the compound, they took out weapons and forced the manager to hand over keys to luxury vehicles among the 600 new units in the compound.  Employees said a veritable army of “helpers” then suddenly appeared and drove the vehicles away.  The manager and lot staff were unharmed.

The state Attorney General’s Office said it was unsure exactly how many vehicles were stolen, but indicated it could have been 50.
