In the wake of the devastating earthquake that rattled a vast swath of southern Mexico just over a week ago, evacuation exercises will be held Tuesday, September 19, 11 a.m., at numerous government buildings, schools and major businesses at lakeside.
Jalisco schedules evacuation practices for simulated seismic activity twice a year. The first is in early May to mark the founding date of the state’s Civil Protection system and the second in September on the anniversary of the 1985 quake that leveled buildings and killed thousands in the nation’s capital.
